Floating Go Proswritten by on
More and more people who come diving, whether for the first time or not, come armed with a Go Pro.... great for some Underwater Video footage. Firstly - for those who are not "in the know" you should consider using a red filter to bring out more colours when you are on dives deeper than 5 metres (!!!)... Unless you know you will be diving somewhere with gin clear visibility. Secondly - buy one of the floating hand grips - herein lies a story!! One of our Divers lost his Go Pro "somewhere underwater" during his dive, searched underwater for 10 minutes then came up to relate his sorry tale!! We spent some time searching on the surface for the Camera, as it had the floating handle but we were in an area with a fairly strong current and there was a strong wind blowing. We decided to put the word out in case the camera landed up on the beach - gauging a potential area based on the current and wind. Miraculously though, another boat, returning to the mooring, upwind of our Dive site and 3 hours later, spotted the camera bobbing around next to their mooring!!! What's more the owner was still at the Hotel where the "findee" came in and so was very happily reunited with his precious Camera!!!
